Burlington Teacher Charged With Violating Release Conditions

A 44-year-old Vermont Spanish teacher is free on bail after she pleaded not guilty to charges she violated the conditions of her release after she was charged with sexually exploiting one of her Burlington High School students.

Giovanna Yaranaga entered the plea Tuesday, a day after was taken into custody by Burlington police.

Yaranaga was again ordered to have no contact with the alleged teenage victim from the original case, following an investigation into a report she had had contact with the alleged victim.

Yaranga was first arrested last month after police found her in a car with a student.

The Burlington Free Press reports her release conditions included that she not attend any soccer or minor league baseball games and that she not have access to computers.
