Vermont’s Wild Future: Conservation in Action at Merck Forest & Farmland Center
Merck Forest & Farmland Center and The Nature Conservancy in Vermont invite the public to Vermont’s Wild Future: Conservation in Action, an afternoon of field exploration and conservation dialogue on Saturday, September 13, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Merck Forest & Farmland Center (MFFC) in Rupert.
This free event brings together conservation professionals and community members for a guided hike at MFFC, followed by expert talks and open conversation about Vermont’s ecological role in a changing climate.
Featured speakers include: Eve Frankel, State Director of The Nature Conservancy in Vermont and Rob Terry, Executive Director of Merck Forest & Farmland Center.
Together, Frankel and Terry will highlight how global and local efforts intersect to support biodiversity, build climate resilience, and steward working lands across the region. “We believe that a healthy future is rooted in connection to land, to community, and each other. This event is about showing how local action, informed by a global perspective, can protect the biodiversity we all depend on,” says Terry.
Attendees will walk forest trails, hear from conservation leaders and have the opportunity to ask questions, network and learn how to take action. Light refreshments will be provided.
