Tree Identification Walk at Windsor Fairgrounds

Tree Identification Walk at Windsor Fairgrounds
“I have learned so much on these walks and eagerly look forward to learning more.” Our local native trees are beautiful, diverse, and well worth knowing more about. Windsor naturalist and former Windsor Tree Warden Michael Metivier will show us how to identify different tree species primarily by their bark, which unlike leaves can be viewed year-round.
This will be a relaxed walk and conversation, going up and downhill. Also be prepared to climb over and duck under trees. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots. We can walk in a gentle rain but will take a rain check for thunder and lightning.
We will meet at the Windsor Fairgrounds, 189 Ascutney St, Windsor. Email librarian@windsorlibrary.org or call the library at 674-2556 to reserve your spot.
