September 24 in Castleton, Grammy Award-winning tabla player Sandeep Das and renowned composer and sitarist Rajib Karmakar come together for a free instrument demonstration and discussion on Indian music, history, and performance. Das and Karmakar are headlining the Vermont Symphony Orchestra’s “East Meets West” concert at The Paramount Theatre in Rutland on September 27, and this workshop provides a rare, pe-concert opportunity to learn more about and hear from two internationally recognized masters of the sitar and tabla drums.
