Opening Reception for “Cover-Up:” an Exhibition of Work by Bennington College Sculpture Students
Cover-Up, a Bennington College Sculpture show, can also be visited from 10:00 am–4:00 pm from Tuesday, December 9, to Thursday, December 11.
The Bennington College community and members of the local public are invited to Cover-Up, an exhibition of work by thirteen Sculpture students from Bennington College at Jay’s Art Shop and Bennington Artisan Market (B.A.M.) at 113 South St. in downtown Bennington, VT.
At the Tuesday, December 9, opening event, the artists will be present sharing information about their work. All are welcome, and refreshments will be served.
“This opportunity allows the students to show their work to the downtown area of Bennington: not only giving them a chance to talk about their work, but also to connect, formulate relationships and have conversations around the work with the community. It is a huge lesson and experience for the students to share outside of their normal class structure,” said faculty member John Umphlett. “Bennington College is a part of the community and hopes to find ways to have a continued presence in the downtown area of Bennington. The most amazing and unexpected things happen when we all show up for one another. This is priceless.”
