Announcing “Dig into Nature”: The Second Annual “Wildlife Fair” at Missisquoi National
Wildlife Refuge
Enjoy guided bird and nature walks. Self-guided explorations. Presentations by noted authors, scientists, and conservationists. Activities and exhibits by conservation and recreation organizations. A live raptor show. A children’s activity passport challenge to earn a badge. A raffle for a guided boat trip. All in one great day — September 20. Bird and nature walks at 8:00 a.m. Presentations, exhibits, activities from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Music and a food truck noon to 1:00. Free admission.

- Early morning (8 a.m.) bird and nature walks
- Speakers:
10-11a.m. - Hyla Howe, Mass Audubon's Grassland Bird Biologist and Bobolink Project Coordinator speaking to the opportunities and challenges of grassland bird conservation
11a.m.- noon - Declan McCabe, author of "Turning Stones" and St. Michael's College Biology Professor speaking on The Wonder of the Living World in our streams, rivers, and lakes.
noon to 1p.m. - food truck and music
1-2 p.m. - Live raptor show by the Vermont Natural History Museum
2-3 p.m. - Trout Unlimited's Jared Carpenter will address the importance of protecting cold water habitats and the joy of fly fishing.
