Hope in Motion 5K and 1K Walk/Run and Wellness Fair

Hope in Motion 5K and 1K Walk/Run and Wellness Fair

The Hope in Motion 5K and 1K Run/Walk and Wellness Fair organized by the Turning Point Center of Addison County is a community-centered event designed to promote wellness, recovery and solidarity around addiction recovery and mental health awareness.

Purpose and Mission

The event serves as both a fundraiser and awareness campaign. It aims to:

Celebrate individuals in recovery and their support networks.

Reduce stigma surrounding substance use and mental health issues.

Raise funds to support the Center’s peer recovery services and wellness initiatives.

Encourage healthy lifestyles and connection through physical activity and community engagement.

Activities and Features

5K and 1K Run/Walk: These non-competitive races welcome participants of all ages and fitness levels. The focus is on participation, not performance, making it an inclusive celebration of wellness and movement.

Wellness Fair: A gathering of local organizations, service providers and vendors offering resources, information, screenings and demonstrations related to health, recovery and well-being.

Family-Friendly Atmosphere: The event typically includes music, food, games and community storytelling, fostering a spirit of hope and unity.

Community Impact

By combining physical wellness with emotional and community support, Hope in Motion represents a powerful act of collective resilience. It underscores the Turning Point Center’s mission to provide a safe, supportive space for recovery, while inspiring hope through motion—both literal and metaphorical.
