Hollywood, VT: The Spitfire Grill
The Spitfire Grill (1996), starring Alison Elliott, Ellen Burstyn, and Marcia Gay Harden, tells the story of a young woman starting over in a struggling small town, where an unusual idea to raffle off the local grill helps bring new life and possibility to the community.
The film was shot in Peacham, Vermont, and the screening will feature a post-film conversation with Vermont documentary filmmaker Bess O’Brien, who served as the film’s Vermont casting director and has spent her career telling stories about rural communities, resilience, and second chances.
