This One Small Step installment features excerpts from a conversation with Mitch, who grew up in rural Vermont and Patti, who lives in Mendon and works as a public defender in the state. Although these One Small Step participants are paired based on their political differences, this excerpt features the common ground found during their conversation.
Patti and Mitch met virtually for an hour-long conversation to try to break down stereotypes and get to know someone different from themselves.
It’s all part of a national collaboration with StoryCorps, and is happening here in Vermont, and at five other public radio stations across the country.
