Yoga aims at joining mind, body, and spirit to achieve a state of enlightenment with the universe.

Yoga studios appear to be a growth industry in Vermont. There are at least a dozen in Burlington alone.

So what is it that has inspired so many people to take up this practice of enriching the mind, body, and spirit?

Andrea Olsen, who teaches yoga and dance at Middlebury College, and Brian Tobin, a Hatha yoga teacher who manages Laughing River Studio in Burlington, share their insights on the practice. We also speak with Kathy McNames about yoga with horses and for horses.

Also on the program, William Shakespeare’s First Folio—the first complete collected edition of his plays —is on display this month at the Middlebury College Museum of Art. English and Literature Professor Timothy Billings and museum staffers Emmie Donadio and Jason Vrooman tell us about having the folio on campus.

Broadcast live on Tues., Feb. 16, 2016 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.

A graduate of NYU with a Master's Degree in journalism, Mitch has more than 20 years experience in radio news. He got his start as news director at NYU's college station, and moved on to a news director (and part-time DJ position) for commercial radio station WMVY on Martha's Vineyard. But public radio was where Mitch wanted to be and he eventually moved on to Boston where he worked for six years in a number of different capacities at member station WBUR...as a Senior Producer, Editor, and fill-in co-host of the nationally distributed Here and Now. Mitch has been a guest host of the national NPR sports program "Only A Game". He's also worked as an editor and producer for international news coverage with Monitor Radio in Boston.
