Governor Shumlin Live

VPR
Governor Shumlin points to passing a balanced budget and the water quality bill as successes in this legislative session.

In his inaugural address, Governor Peter Shumlin focused on the cleanup of Lake Champlain and a renewed focus on the expansion of renewables like small-scale solar. He promoted a .7 percent payroll tax in his budget address to help reduce the Medicaid cost shift.

Now that the final gavel has come down on the 2015 legislative session, we'll speak with Governor Shumlin on how his priorities fared, the budget deal that was made to end the session and the status of Vermont Health Connect as it races to meet benchmarks set for the end of this month.

Broadcast live on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
