My Place: The Beatles' Apple Records - Part One

Apple Records was founded by the Beatles in 1968. It was intended as a creative outlet for the Beatles, plus a selection of other artists.

This week Joel Najman's My Place looks at the Beatles' proprietary Apple Record Company, which released newly recorded  music from its inception in 1968 through 1975. Apple was conceived not only as an outlet for Beatles recordings but also for new artists fostered by The Beatles and for creative projects by individual members of the Fab Four.

Memorable Apple recordings by The Beatles, Badfinger and Mary Hopkin are among the selections featured on Part One of this two-part series.

Joel Najman
Joel has been a part of Vermont's radio scene since 1964. He began his career at WIPS in Ticonderoga, New York. In 1965, he moved to WFAD in Middlebury, Vermont, where he attended Middlebury College. Over the years, Joel worked at radio stations WJOY, WQCR, WDOT, WDEV and WVAA where he served at various times as Morning Announcer, Program Director and News Director.
