Hit Songs And Music By Carole King

Singer-Songwriter Carole King was awarded the 2013 Library Of Congress Gershwin Prize For Popular Song, in recognition of her over fifty-year career as a composer of American popular music. On May 22, 2013 Carole King performed at the White House where she was presented the Gershwin Prize by President Barack Obama.  This week Joel Najman's My Place program celebrates this honor with an hour of hit songs with music composed by Carole King.

Joel has been a part of Vermont's radio scene since 1964. He began his career at WIPS in Ticonderoga, New York. In 1965, he moved to WFAD in Middlebury, Vermont, where he attended Middlebury College. Over the years, Joel worked at radio stations WJOY, WQCR, WDOT, WDEV and WVAA where he served at various times as Morning Announcer, Program Director and News Director.
