The Vermont Senate this morning welcomed Michael Sirotkin, a lawyer who was sworn in to replace his late wife Sally Fox, a two term state senator who died from a rare form of cancer in January.

Senator Bernie Sanders has just returned from a Congressional trip to Cuba, and he says it’s essential for the U.S. to close down its detention center for alleged terrorists at Guantanamo Bay.

It has been an exciting morning for Vermont competitors in Sochi, with Devin Logan of West Dover bringing home a silver medal in the first Olympic competition for slopestyle skiing.

Lynne worked for Vermont Public from 2002 to 2022 as a producer/reporter for special news projects.
Neal was a reporter and VPR's All Things Considered host from 2001 to 2014. He joined VPR in 1996, hosting VPR's jazz programming, including live performances from the VPR studios and the Discover Jazz Festival. Prior to VPR, Neal was a programmer and host for WNCS in Montpelier and WDEV in Waterbury. He holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College.
