The Vermont Department of Health says a horse in Highgate has been euthanized after being stricken with Eastern equine encephalitis. At least three Vermont state agencies are investigating to determine if anything could have been done to prevent the apparent suicide of a 38-year-old inmate at the Northern State Correctional Facility last week. A proposed ordinance in Weathersfield would ban medical marijuana dispensaries from operating, as well as businesses that sell tobacco-related paraphernalia.
