A Prairie Home Companion Host Garrison Keillor has announced that he will retire as host after next season. He told the Associated Press https://youtu.be/gdT9t35RCcc","_id":"00000179-c816-d4c2-a579-fdd604140003","_type":"035d81d3-5be2-3ed2-bc8a-6da208e0d9e2"}">
“I have a lot of other things that I want to do. I mean, nobody retires anymore. Writers never retire. But this is my last season. This tour this summer is the farewell tour," the 72-year-old Keillor said.
You can catch Keillor and the whole gang on the farewell tour at Burlington's Waterfront Park on Thursday, August 6 in Burlington, as part of the Lake Champlain Maritime Festival.
Keillor has tapped musician Chris Thile of the bands Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek to succeed him full time as host in September 2016. He said Thile — a mandolin whiz — will help return PHC to its roots as a music show.
