Art Hounds: Holiday Concerts

The Barretones are an a cappella group who sing in the barbershop style.

Poet and writer Diana Whitney from Brattleboro recommended the Vermont Theater Company's adaptation of A Christmas Carol on stage at the Hooker-Dunham Theater in Brattleboro for several weekend performances, including matinees and evening shows.

Singer Daron Blake suggested the a cappella group Root 7 in concert Saturday, December 13th at 7 p.m. at Contois Auditorium at Burlington's City Hall. The performance is a fund-raiser for Very Merry Theater and members of the theater group will perform as well.

Randi Solin from Solin Glass in Brattleboro recommended Fiesta Dominicana, a dance and concert with Latin jazz music from Eugene Uman of the Vermont Jazz Center which will benefit The Compass School in Westminster on Saturday, December 13th at 6 p.m.

Valley Arts director Karen Nevin of Waitsfield suggested the BarreTones in concert as part of the Barre Town annual holiday show. The performance is Sunday, December 14th at 2 p.m. at Montpelier High School.

Cynthia Johnson of East Calais recommended Session Americana in concert Friday, December 12th at 8 p.m. at the Haybarn at Goddard College in Plainfield.
