Amalie Pratt, 10, shows off one of the friendship rocks she painted after she and her father discovered similarly decorated rocks on their daily walks through their neighborhood.

Amalie Pratt is 10 years old and lives on a gravel back road near the Elmore-Morristown line. Since she's been learning from home, she and her dad have been talking daily treks through the neighborhood. Those walks have turned into a hunt for friendship rocks.

The rocks are painted with words or symbols, or made to look like something else. Amalie and her dad started finding them a few weeks ago. The discovery inspired her to create her own painted rocks to add to what they've found.

Amalie hopes the friendship rocks will add a little adventure to the lives of others who are spending their time learning or working from home.
