This week, VPR checks in with Madeline Clark, who writes for The Other Paper, covering news for South Burlington and surrounding towns. Clark's reporting has recently focused on several groups who are finding ways to still mark milestone events such as prom and graduation and traditional commemorations such as Ramadan.
Clark said after attending an afternoon meeting of South Burlington High School seniors, she learned that South Burlington will host a drive-in graduation ceremony.
Clark said, "The drive-in ceremony will take place at the Champlain Valley Exposition on June 12. Students and families will have to stay in their cars during the ceremony but the school is hoping to have 10 representatives on stage including the senior speakers and the faculty speaker. This drive-in graduation model was made with guidance from the Agency of Education, the Vermont Department of Health and the Governor’s office."
