The 2018 general election is fast-approaching, and leading up to Election Day, we're featuring interviews with candidates seeking statewide offices. Jon Svitavsky is running as an independent for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Svitavsky is a longtime social worker and advocate for the homeless, who calls himself a "responsibility liberal Democrat." He says his hands-on experience working with people who are homeless and struggling with drug and alcohol addiction shows his ability to come up with practical solutions.
Svitavsky also discussed his views on environmental action, health care and police violence.
