Police: Three Killed In Tractor Trailer Crash

U.S. Route 4 in Killington was closed after a crash between a tractor trailer and a SUV left three dead, according to a release from Vermont State Police.

Authorities did not release any additional information about the people and vehicles involved in the accident.

The release said U.S. 4 may remain closed until early Wednesday morning as police continue to investigate the collision.

Lt. Chuck Cacciatore said in a release that drivers should avoid the affected stretch of U.S. 4:

Please avoid US 4 from the area of Pico Ski area in Mendon to US 4, west of the junction with Vt 100.

If you need to travel east to west, or west to east, we recommend US 7 south to Vt 103 onto Vt 100 in Ludlow, to complete the “circle” around this closed portion of US 4.
