For the last five months Vermont State Sen. Norm McAllister has been awaiting trial on sexual assault charges.
In that time, the Republican from Franklin County says he's had to sell off farm equipment to pay legal bills, but maintains his innocence. Instead, the senator say he’s the victim of false accusations.
Since his arrest, McAllister hasn’t said much to the media. But last week, reporter Mark Davis spoke with McAllister at his farm in Highgate. Their interview appears in this week's issue of Seven Days.
Davis spoke with VPR about the piece.
