The outgoing director of the Vermont Democratic Party is headed east to lead Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign in New Hampshire.
Julia Barnes, hired as executive director of the VDP in April of 2012, has a long political history in New Hampshire, where she worked on the 2008 presidential campaign of Joe Biden. As New Hampshire state field director for Organizing for America from 2009 to 2011, she helped organize the reelection campaign of Barack Obama.
Connor Casey, a former legislative director for the Vermont State Employees Association, will succeed Barnes as executive director of the Vermont Democratic Party.
