Vice President Joe Biden is five times more likely to win the Democratic nomination in 2016 than Sen. Bernie Sanders, according to a new poll. And Joe Biden is not likely to win the nomination.
A poll released by CNN Wednesday shows that just 3 percent of Democrats would be "most likely to support" Sanders in the 2016 presidential primary. That puts the Vermonter behind Sen. Elizabeth Warren (10 percent), Biden (15 percent) and former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton (62 percent).
While Sanders serves in the Senate as an independent, he caucuses with the Democrats and hasn't ruled out running as a Democrat in 2016. He's said he does not want to end up being a "spoiler" in the election, pulling votes away from a Democrat and leaving a Republican to win.
Sanders has also said that if he chooses to run (a decision he still has not announced), he would "run to win" and want the support of millions of Americans. The CNN poll puts the plausibility of such a win in doubt, but Sanders himself hasn't publicly reacted to the results.
