A California company that supplies natural gas for commercial transportation has purchased controlling interest in NG Advantage of Colchester and Milton.
Clean Energy Fuels serves customers whose fleets are powered by natural gas.
NG Advantage LLC delivers natural gas to large users in New England and New York State. The company serves customers who are beyond the reach of natural gas pipelines.
Clean Energy Fuels says the $37,650,296 acquisition will allow it to expand its market to large users who have no pipeline access.
The company is also purchasing NG Advantage’s Milton natural gas compression station.
According to a company release, the Milton facility, “will immediately become Clean Energy’s highest-volume station in its nationwide network of almost 500 stations.”
NG Advantage was founded in 2011 by Tom and Mary Evslin. The company employs 26. According to Mary Evslin, another 20 employees work for an outside contractor, providing transportation services for NG Advantage.
Tom Evslin is a former Vermont Transportation Secretary and served as the state’s Chief Recovery Officer, overseeing the use of federal stimulus funds.
Mary Evslin is a former chair of the Vermont Telecommunications Authority. According to a news release, Tom Evslin will continue to serve as company CEO.
Clean Energy Fuels was started by oilman T. Boone Pickens.
