The Vermont State Police announced 25 new recruits Thursday, including the first African-American females and the first Latina hired by the force.
"With the successful completion of this recruit class, the Vermont State Police will be fully staffed with 327 sworn members," said Colonel Tom L'Esperance, director of the Vermont State Police.
The recruits are slated to graduate with the 98th Vermont Police Academy class once they complete pre-basic training.
