Fire In Brattleboro Leaves 17 Homeless

A three-alarm fire in Brattleboro left 17 homeless.

A three-alarm fire ravaged an apartment building on Elliot Street in Brattleboro last night, leaving 17 people homeless.

Brattleboro interim Town Manager Patrick Moreland was on the scene.

"There were seven apartments which means there were seven households evacuated, some of which went and stayed with fiends or family, others of which have been put up by the American Red Cross," said Moreland.

Moreland said three fire fighters were transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, but no other injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
