Three top officials from the Vermont Agency of Transportation are heading west to help guide Colorado's road and bridge repair in the wake of last week's deadly and destructive flooding.
Gov. Peter Shumlin announced Sunday that Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper asked for Vermont to share its expertise in rebuilding roads and bridges following Tropical Storm Irene to help Colorado rebuild its infrastructure.
Agency on Transportation Deputy Secretary Sue Minter, Chief Engineer Richard Tetreault and Director of Operations Scott Rogers are flying to Colorado this morning and plan to stay through Thursday.
Vermont officials say the state of Colorado is paying for the trip.
