Brattleboro Musician Gives American Ballads A New Twist

Sam Amidon was born and raised in Brattleboro by a family of folk musicians and their shape note singing set the soundtrack for his life.  Amidon has found that music ringing in his ears ever since. In his latest album, Amidon takes some very old American ballads and gives them his own musical twist.

Amidon now lives in London these days but he’s currently on a North American tour. He stopped by VPR's Colchester studio to play a few songs from his new album “Bright Sunny South” for Vermont Edition.
