Vermont State Police say the mayor of the city of Newport has been cited on a charge of driving under the influence.
Police say 51-year-old Paul Monette was processed for DUI following the July 21 crash on Interstate 91 in Barton, but the results of tests taken at that time were not completed until recently.
Monette suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Last week, Monette was issued a citation on a charge of driving under the influence, second offense.
Monette is due in court in Newport on Oct. 1.
In an email, Monette said Monday the charge was a personal matter and he would have no comment.
