A 48-year-old woman from Brownington has been ordered to turn herself over to federal authorities in October to begin serving an 18-month sentence for embezzling more than $157,000 from her employer.
Kimberly Brooks of Brownington also must serve three years of supervised release after her prison term and has been ordered to pay restitution of about $163,000.
Brooks pleaded guilty to embezzling money from Desmarais Equipment of Orleans, which sells farm equipment and recreational vehicles.
Authorities say she embezzled money by stealing cash from company bank deposits and altering deposit slips.
