Four Vermont communities are getting grants for conservation projects ranging from a new information kiosk in a town forest to an improved shelter at a nature center.
The grants from the Association of Vermont Conservation Commissions have been awarded to groups in Dorset, Fayston, Plainfield and Warren.
The Dorset Conservation Commission will use its $600 grant for a new informational kiosk and sign at the Cutler Memorial Forest.
Warren will get $470 to help pay for the field verification of wildlife corridors.
Plainfield will use a $600 grant for a consultant to design, map and estimate the costs of a trail system in the town forest.
Fayston will use its $600 grant to help pay for a shed roof addition to a shelter for a nature center.
