With the start of school less than a month away, school chefs around Vermont are set to gather in St. Johnsbury this week for the release of a new school food cookbook.
Wednesday's event at the St. Johnsbury Academy is to celebrate the release of "New School Cuisine: Nutritious and Seasonal Recipes for School Cooks by School Cooks."
The cookbook is the result of a collaboration between the group Vermont FEED — for Food Education Every Day — the Agency of Education, the New England Culinary Institute and the School Nutrition Association of Vermont.
The book is said to feature kid-tested and approved recipes that meet USDA dietary guidelines.
