A Canadian academic is going to use teaching mathematical modeling skills in the study of military conflict at Norwich University.
Officials at the Northfield campus say Professor Michael Armstrong of Brock University in Ontario, Canada, will be this year's visiting research chair and Fulbright scholar in the Studies in War and Peace Department.
Norwich says Armstrong’s research seeks to understand why past battles turned out the way they did, and explore how future combat might unfold, with math modeling skills reflecting those outcomes.
Armstrong is due to arrive in Vermont in January.
The Fulbright Visiting Research Chair at Norwich University is focused on research pertaining to military and diplomatic affairs.
