It may not draw the same size crowd as this week's Comic-Con in San Diego, but for Vermont maple producers, Maplerama is where it's at.
Maplerama is a three-day trade show for Vermonters who tap trees and make maple syrup, candy and sugar. This year it's sponsored by the Orleans County Maple Producers, and the three-day event will cover a lot of Orleans County territory.
The event starts Thursday afternoon, and activities on Thursday and Friday will be held at the northern end of the county at Jay Peak Resort. Saturday Maplerama moves south to the Orleans County Fairgrounds.
Thursday and Friday’s events will be headquartered at Jay Peak Resort and will include a trade show, tours of maple and other food producers in the northern part of the county, and a banquet at Jay Peak. Saturday’s events will be headquartered at the Orleans County Fairgrounds in Barton, VT and will include a pancake breakfast, tours of maple and other food producers in the southern part of the county, and a barbeque.
