Shooting In Peacham Was Apparent Murder-Suicide

Vermont State Police say a shooting that left two men dead in Peacham was an apparent murder-suicide.

Police believe the ex-husband of a woman shot her current husband yesterday morning.

Police say Jeannie Peabody called police to report that a white van came to her home around 7 o’clock. Her husband, Mark Peabody, went outside to talk to the occupant.

She told police that she heard gunshots, went into her basement and then to a neighbor's to call 911.

Police say they later found Mark Peabody dead outside and John Jackson of Amherst, New Hampshire dead inside the home. Police believe Jackson shot Mark Peabody and then himself.

Police say Jeannie Peabody had been having disagreements with Jackson over child support payments.
