The U.S. Air Force is admitting to giving out incorrect information on public support for basing the F-35 fighter jet in Burlington.
The Air Force said last month that public comments showed 80 percent of public comments supported basing the jets at Burlington International Airport.
The Air Force now says it got those numbers wrong, and that public comments show 35 percent were in favor, with the other 65 percent opposed.
An Air Force civilian project manager says the error had been found before the report was issued and was supposed to have been fixed, but was not.
