Police have arrested a Vermont man in a purse snatching in Berlin after a witness documented the crime using his cell phone video camera.
Police say the video shows the thief following an elderly woman in the Shaw's parking lot, taking her purse and running away. People chased him before he got into a car driven by a woman.
Authorities say the 77-year-old victim from Brookfield suffered minor injuries to her hand.
Police say they found the getaway car later that evening and arrested 28-year-old Todd Johnson of Morrisville for assault and robbery. WCAX-TV reports that 30-year-old Mary Ellen Juma of Hyde Park has been charged as an accessory.
