Finding Great Spring Hikes

On a beautiful Spring day, it’s hard not to spend some time outside.

Jennifer Lamphere Roberts is the author of the newly released “AMC’s Best Day Hikes in Vermont,” put out by the Appalachian Mountain Club. It’s a look at 60 trails in the Green Mountain State.

Roberts, who is an expert in finding the perfect trail for a hike, recommends Eagle Mountain  in Milton, that is the highest point on Vermont's lake shore. In the southern part of the state, she loves Mount Olga in Wilmington, part of Molly Stark State Park.

Jane Lindholm is the host, executive producer and creator of But Why: A Podcast For Curious Kids. In addition to her work on our international kids show, she produces special projects for Vermont Public. Until March 2021, she was host and editor of the award-winning Vermont Public program Vermont Edition.
