February's Student Composer Showcase features Annie Beliveau, a senior at Essex High School. Her piece, "Echo's Lament," is the first vocal work in the our series. Its text comes from a 16th century play by English playwright Ben Johnson, and it explores the legend of Echo and Narcissus.
VPR Classical's Student Composer Showcase is produced in partnership with Music-COMP, the Music Online Composition Mentoring Program.
