Last year, VPR Classical hosts James Stewart and Linda Radtke gave a presentation detailing the history of the "Bennington Battle March” a work by Vermont pianist and composer Ernest Murray. Bennington Battle Day is celebrated every year on August 16. This year’s celebrations were a bit different under the shadow of a pandemic, with reverse parades and take-out food, but the heart of the celebration remains. This hour, in honor of Bennington Battle Day, we listen back to last year’s presentation, including a performance of the "Bennington Battle March” by Ernest Murray.

Broadcast live on Monday, August 17, 2020 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
