As the COVID-19 crisis continues, we learn about creative approaches to connection and community in Vermont. From virtual yoga to online "community chats", what are you doing to connect with others in this time of social distancing?
Our guests are:
Trevor Barlow is the Executive Director of the Black River Innovation Campus (BRIC) in Springfield. BRIC recently launched a series of virtual “community chats”, spotlighting members of the local community.
Jen Rose Smith lives in Richmond and is coordinating volunteer efforts to deliver groceries to fellow residents.
Zoë Keating is a cellist, composer, and international performer who calls Burlington home. She and her neighbors have been fostering community with nightly music- and noise-making.
Anna Rubin is the Director of External Relations at the Fairbanks Museum in St. Johnsbury. The museum is offering a weekly online story hour and virtual “moments of zen”.
Ryan Christiansen is Head Distiller at Caledonia Spirits, the maker of Barr Hill Gin. The business has pivoted in recent weeks to making hand sanitizer for those on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis in Vermont.
James Lockridge is the Executive Director of Big Heavy World in Burlington. The nonprofit is bringing music to the community by broadcasting live streamed performances on the radio.
Lindsay Armstrong is the owner of Embodied, a yoga studio in Montpelier, which is offering virtual classes.
Broadcast live at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 25, 2020; rebroadcast at 8:00 p.m.
