Festivals, contra dances, new releases, and Louis Armstrong's 118th birthday!

This program will air on Sunday, August 4th from 7 - 10 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

There will be a family contra dance held at the Tunbridge Town Hall on Friday August 9th beginning at 7:30 p.m. with live music.  All dances will be taught.

New York singer songwriter Bill Scozari will be playing at Brandon Music on Saturday August 10th at 7:30 p.m.

Knoll Farm in Waitsfield presents a benefit concert on Saturday August 10th  featuring Anne and Pete Sibley with special guest, mad river valley guitarist Greg Ryan.
Music begins at 5:30 p.m.

Village Harmony Teen World Music Ensemble are giving seven concerts this week in and around the VPR listening area.  For more information check their website: www.villageharmony.org

The Spruce Peak Folk Festival will be held in Stowe on August 10th and 11th . Featured performers include Francesca Blanchard, Mipso, Lowell Thompson, Shawn Colvin, and much more. 

Lewis Franco & the Brown Eyed Girls, with Joe Franco will be playing at The Whammy Bar in Calais on Saturday August 10th at 7:30 p.m.

Dudley Laufman will lead the dancing for a Contra Dance at the  Nelson, NH Town Hall on Saturday August 10th . Dancing begins at 7 p.m.

The Meeting House  on the Green in East Fairfield presents David Mallet on Friday August 9th.

The Colonial Theater in Bethlehem, NH presents the Hot Sardines on Friday August 9th .

 

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
