What role does storytelling play in addiction and recovery?
Writers For Recovery is a storytelling project sharing the experiences of Vermonters who've been impacted by substance use disorder and the struggle for recovery. The program features original writings from the recovery community, sharing stories of each writer's past, how they've faced addiction either within themselves or within others and how they've rebuilt their lives.
Six Vermonters shared their stories with VPR as part of My Heart Still Beats, a podcast series featuring conversations about addiction and original writing from the recovery community around Vermont.

Many in that group then came together for a live event in March 2019 at Turning Point Center of Burlington, answering questions before an audience and discussing the power and importance of sharing their stories.
