Honeywilya Fish is a Duxbury company that catches, fillets, and ships Alaskan Salmon back to Vermont where it's sold at farmers markets, retailers and through a CSF.

You might have heard of, or participate in, a CSA (community supported agriculture). But now, one small company is bringing the CSF - community supported fish - from the waters of Alaska to dinner tables in Vermont.

Lynn and Maria Steyaart operate Duxbury's Honeywilya Fish. Lynn spends half of the year fishing for king and coho salmon near Petersburg, Alaska, while Maria manages sales and marketing back home. Currently, you can find their fresh-as-it-gets Alaskan salmon at farmers markets in Richmond and Waitsfield, co-ops and natural food stores in Montpelier, Middlebury and Waterbury, and at The Scale Poke Bar in Williston.

Seven Days food writer, Sally Pollak, spoke (and ate) with the Steyaarts to learn about the careful process of catching these fish individually, life on a fishing boat for multiple months at a time, and how they quickly ship their catch back to Vermont. Read more about Honeywilya Fish in Pollak's article, "Vermonter Lynn Steyaart Supplies Local 'CSF' With Alaskan Salmon."
