Vermont legislative rules mandate that senators and representatives fill out forms to disclose information about their employment and finances. The idea is that the public should be aware of any potential conflicts of interest and be able to figure out what financial entanglements the lawmakers we vote for might have.
The problem is it's not easy for the public to actually find that information, and there was no easy way to look at it all in one place. Until now. Andrea Suozzo is the digital editor at the weekly and online paper Seven Days. She has made a database laying out all the disclosures - and she joined Vermont Edition to talk about it.
