We welcome in October with lots of local music, a brand new set of classic Americana, and even a few songs about cats!

This program will air on Sunday October 1st from 7 -10 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

Newfoundland musician Matthew Byrne will be performing in Montreal on Monday October 2nd at Casa del Popolo (4873 St. Laurent).  Doors open at 7:30, music begins at 8.

Greg and Casey Ryan will be at The Wild Fern in Stockbridge, Vermont on Friday October 6th.

The Michelle Fay Band will be performing in the main reading room of the Deborah Rawson Library in Jericho on Sunday October 8th at 2 p.m.

Carol Hausner, Jonathan "Doc" Kaplan and Donovan Delabruere will be at the Highland Lodge Restaurant/Lounge in Greensboro on Friday October 6th at 7 p.m.  Carol and Jonathan will also be playing outside at the Groton Fall Foliage 61st Annual Incomparable Groton Chicken Pie Supper on Saturday October 7th at the Groton Town Hall.

The David Bromberg Quintet will play at the Chandler Music Hall in Randolph on Thursday October 5th at 7 p.m.

The town of Cabot will celebrate its 57th Annual Fall Foliage Festival on Tuesday, October 3rd.  Featured musical performers include R.D. Eno, Katie Trautz and Lee Blackwell, Dana and Susan Robinson, and David Carpenter and the Cabot Contraband.  Music begins at noon.

On Peacham Fall Foliage Day, Thursday October 5th Alan Greenleaf will be giving a solo concert in the Peacham Congregational Church from 4-6 p.m. Then on Saturday, October 7th, at the Groton Fall Foliage Festival, Alan Greenleaf will provide the music during the famous Groton chicken pot pie supper [over 900 are served] which starts at 4:30 PM. Alan will play for the entire 4 sittings.

Patrick Ross continues his local opera house tour this week with a show at the Littleton, NH Opera House on Friday October 6th at 7 p.m. and at the Medalion Opera house in Gorham, NH on Sunday October 8th at 3 p.m.

There will be a contra dance in Peterborough, NH on Saturday October 7th with Steve Zakon-Anderson calling and with the group Birl providing the music. The dancing begins at 8:00 p.m. The dance also hosts a free jam session for beginning and intermediate musicians at 6:30 p.m. and a workshop for new dancers at 7:30 p.m.

The Durham County Poets return to  Brandon Music on Saturday October 7th at 7:30 p.m.

Rick Norcross and his Ramblers will be performing at the Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro on Saturday October 7thand at the Hotel Vermont in Burlington on Sunday afternoon October 8th.

Old Songs in Voorheesville, NY presents Jez Lowe on Friday October 6th at 7:30 p.m.

Vermont guitarist Will Ackerman and his new band Flow will be performing at the Latchis Theater in Brattleboro on Wednesday October 4th.

The Suitcase Junket will be performing at Higher Ground in South Burlington on Friday October 6th.

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
