Sharing hobbies and talents with friends can be a great way to spend time during the holiday season. But be careful if your quest to be the queen or king of homemade, doesn't make your friends and family feel inferior.

Everyone has that DIY-inclined friend that seems to make it all. They brew their own kombucha in their kitchen sink while re-upholstering their old sofa (Heck, you might even be that friend.) And it's all well and good — that is until they start to judge you for your store-bought choices.

Here's what you can say to any DIY-master to help them keep the judgment in check:

Remind friends and family that while it's completely fine if they want to share their hobbies, interests and latest completed projects with you, what's not fine is them feeling an air of superiority because they do.
