Art Hounds: Student Symphony, Ballet And A Pop-Up Shop

Enjoy arts events featuring student writers, musicians and actors, a holiday pop-up shop with works by local artisans and some holiday concerts.

Friday, Dec. 9 at Burlington City Arts in Burlington at 7 p.m.: Sound Check, featuring students from The Young Writers Project performing their poems, stories and songs on stage suggested by Sarah Gliech of Burlington.

Friday, Dec. 9 through Sunday, Dec. 18 in Bethel: Blossom Block Holiday Market Pop-Up Shop featuring central Vermont artisans' works for sale, suggested by Nancy Pejouhy of Bethel.

Sunday, Dec. 11 at Barre Opera House in Barre at 2:00 p.m.: Green Mountain Youth Symphony's semi-annual concert featuring all three youth orchestras performing classical works, suggested by Gordon Bock of Northfield.

Sunday, Dec. 11 at Brandon Congregational Church in Brandon at 3 p.m.: Brandon Festival Singers 35th Annual Holiday Concert and an original Christmas cantata performed by The Onion River Jazz Band, suggested by Monica McEnerny of Brandon.

Thursday, Dec. 15 through through Saturday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. at Montpelier High School Auditorium: "How To Succeed In Business Without Even Trying", performed by Masque, Montpelier's student theater group, suggested by Allison Mann of Montpelier.

Friday, Dec. 16 at Shelburne Vineyard in Shelburne at 6 p.m. : Myra Flynn and Paul Boffa perform a free concert, suggested by Mike Reilly of Shelburne.
