John Lee Hooker For President !

A feast of new midsummer releases, Creedence Clearwater covers in Spanish, and Ry Cooder's classic tribute to John Lee Hooker (though I'm not quite convinced about that "president" thing.... !)

This program will air on Sunday July 24th from 7-10 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

The Greg Ryan Band will be performing in Rochester, VT as part of their Concerts in the Park series on Sunday July 31st at 6:30 p.m.

East Fairfield's annual Jig in the Valley will be held this year on Sunday, July 31st on the E. Fairfield green, or in the meeting house in case of rain.  Featured performers include Dale and Darcy, Brian Curry, the Stragglers, Near North, David Rosane and the Zookeepers, the Oleo Romeos, and - direct from New Orleans - Al Zanzler.

The Vermont old-time band Kick ‘Em Jenny will perform at the Marshfield bandstand on Thursday July 28th at 6:30 p.m.

Those Darn Accordions will be playing a live concert at the Stowe Free Library on Tuesday July 26th at 6:30 p.m.

There will be a special summer Contra Dance on July 30th in Fitzwilliam, NH, featuring Denis Liddy & Elvie Miller from Co. Clare, Ireland providing the music and with Tod Whittemore calling. The time is 8 p.m., and the place is the Fitzwilliam town hall.

Britt Connors and her band Bourbon Renewal perform at Brandon Music on Saturday July 30th at 7:30 p.m.

The Phil Henry Band will be performing at the West Rutland Town Hall on Thursday July 28th at 7 p.m.

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
